The Seagull Models North American T-28 Trojan (SEA258NGEAR) is a 63-inch wingspan ARTF RC warbird aimed at intermediate to advanced sport flyers who want a rewarding semi-scale military trainer to fly and display. Based on the real T-28 Trojan that replaced the T-6 Texan as the primary US military trainer, this RC plane captures the aircraft's classic outline with a lightweight balsa and plywood airframe covered in genuine Oracover film in a US Navy matte finish. This version of the T-28 Trojan includes electric retract units — the ER-120 84 and ER-120 100 — making it ready for scale-style gear operation straight from the box. The airframe arrives largely pre-built, with motor mount fitted and control surface hinges pre-installed, so assembly time is kept short before heading to the field.
Key Features
- 63-inch (160 cm) wingspan semi-scale airframe with a wing area of approximately 349.5 sq in and an all-up flying weight in the 8.8–9.9 lb range
- Balsa and plywood construction keeps the airframe light while providing greater rigidity than a typical foam ARTF RC aircraft
- Covered in genuine Oracover film in a US Navy matte finish for a realistic scale appearance on the ground and in the air
- Plugin wing design allows quick attachment and removal for easy transport to and from the flying field
- Includes ER-120 84 and ER-120 100 electric retract units for scale landing gear operation; operational flaps with linkages are also fitted
