Rio Grande Games Coloretto - RIO226

Rio Grande Games Coloretto (RIO226) is a card game for 2 to 5 players that challenges everyone to collect sets of coloured chameleons while cleverly blocking their opponents. Games are quick, typically wrapping up in 30 to 45 minutes, and the rules are simple enough for players aged 8 and up to pick up within minutes. That combination of fast play and tactical decision-making makes Coloretto a strong choice for family game nights as well as casual play between hobbyists looking for something between rounds of bigger games.

Key Features

• Players score positively for up to three colour sets and negatively for any additional colours collected, creating a genuine push-your-luck tension on every turn.
• Each turn a player either draws a card and adds it to a row or takes an entire row, keeping decisions simple but consequences meaningful.
• The compact card format means the game packs down small and travels easily, with no board required.
• Scalable from two players up to five without rule changes, making it flexible for different group sizes.
• Designed by Michael Schacht, Coloretto is widely regarded as a gateway game that introduces set-collection mechanics in an accessible format.
